Core Advantages

Excellent electrical and thermal conductivity for electrical applications

The electrical conductivity of brass is far higher than steel and aluminum which make it be ideal material for electrical connectors, terminal blocks and switch parts. Honmor once customized C36000 brass electrical terminal blocks for a European electrical equipment manufacturer with a positional tolerance of ±0.15mm for pin holes which ensures stable contact with wires and minimal current loss. The polished surface of parts further reduces touching resistance and improves electrical efficient by 8%. When customers purchase brass parts for electrical use, Honmor suggest choosing low-lead or lead-free brass grades and optimize milling paths to avoid burrs, ensuring the parts meet the standard of IEC 60947 and other safe standards.

Outstanding machinability for efficient production

Brass is the one of most easily machined metals, Honmor produce brass CNC milling components 40% faster than steel parts due to its low hardness and low cutting resistance. The free-cutting brass C36000, for example, can be milled at high speeds without tool wear, reducing production cycles and unit costs. A Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer procured 50,000 pieces of C36000 brass USB-C connector housings from Honmor, this kind of brass milling components with integrated grooves and holes were produced at a rate of 1,200 pieces per day per machine, 500 pieces more than aluminum equivalents. The rapid production efficiency support the customer to launch their new generation smartphone 2 weeks ahead of schedule, which help them seize the market share earlier than others and highlight Honmor’s ability to support timely order fulfillment.

Inherent corrosion resistance and aesthetics for visible use.

Brass will generate a thin, protective patina as time goes on, which is helpful for defending corrosion from air, water and mild acids, making brass milling parts suitable for plumbing fixture, decorative hardware, and outdoor electrical enclosures. Honmor’s C38500 brass plumbing valve cores, supplied to a U.S. plumbing brand, have a corrosion resistance of 1,000-hour salt spray tests (no rust) and maintain their golden appearance for 5+ years. As for decorative parts, Honmor can provide polishing or lacquering surface treatment to enhance aesthetics and prevent tarnishing. A typical example is that Honmor offered a Italian furniture manufacturer with customized polished brass drawer pulls, these parts with mirror-like surface which matched the brand’s luxury design, and their corrosion resistance ensured no discoloration in humid environments.
